A concrete driveway in Roberta is a slab that carries the weight of every car, truck and delivery van that pulls onto your property, day after day. We pour residential driveways from the street apron to the garage, and we handle both new installation and full replacement of old, broken surfaces. A plain broom finish is the most common choice. Some homeowners want stamped or decorative concrete instead, and we do that too. Whatever the finish, the part you never see (the base, the reinforcement, the thickness) decides how long the driveway lasts.
The job starts with a walk of the site. We look at where water goes now, where it should go, and how the driveway meets the road and the house. Then we dig out, grade and compact a stone base, set forms, and place steel reinforcement before any concrete arrives. Pour day is about timing: placing, screeding and finishing the surface while the mix is still workable. Control joints get cut so any cracking follows a straight line we chose. After that, the slab cures, and it needs that time before it takes a car.
Most failed driveways fail from below. A thin base, soft spots nobody compacted, or no reinforcement at all will show up as cracks that widen and edges that crumble. Water is the other problem. With about 44 inches of rain a year here, a driveway that sheds water toward the garage or lets it pool along the slab edge will slowly wash out its own base. Poor finishing causes trouble too. Water added at the surface to make it easier to work leaves a weak top layer that flakes and dusts.
Getting it right costs more in preparation than in materials. The extra hours go into digging deep enough, bringing in and compacting the base, and placing reinforcement where the loads actually sit. None of that shows on the day we finish, which is exactly why it gets cut short on rushed jobs. We would rather tell you plainly what goes under your slab and why. Every driveway is different in size, slope, access and site conditions, so the price comes from the property itself, not a chart. Call for a free estimate.
